Ryan, the California State AAMC Director moderates the event and shines, Dave Bishop and crew provide security, and Dr. Jay dedicates the event to Laura Carden and all of those sick and dying who couldn’t attend.

On Monday, September 23^rd over 1,000 folks came hundreds of miles to rally under the Capitol Dome demanding that elected officials and representatives of the State support the California Compassionate Use Act against the unconstitutional depredations of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The rally was sponsored by AAMC, Senator John Vasconcellos, and Americans for Safe Access, the Drug Policy Alliance, and Students for a Sensible Drug Policy. Patients and caregivers came from Los Angeles, San Bernadino, Mendocino, Sonoma, Oakland, San Francisco, Humboldt, El Dorado, Sacramento, Ventura, and many other locations including New York and Washington, DC. The Capitol portion of the rally started at noon in 104 degree heat and ran until 2:00 PM when most of the crowd adjourned to the Federal Courthouse for civil disobedience.
